Star Wars: Folded Flyers

Here’s an interesting upcoming publication: Star Wars Folded Flyers.

The first fold-your-own starfighters that fly with the Force It’s always great to fold an awesome-looking paper airplane. It’s even better to fold one that really and truly flies. Best of all? Folding a flyer that can take down an evil Empire.

Introducing Star Wars Folded Flyers, paper starfighters that will speed through your living room as well as they do in outer space. That’s because each design has been subject to rigorous testing by the Aerodynamics Team at Klutz Labs. And they look as great as they fly, because they’re made from full-colour, custom-designed papers — representing galactic vehicle exteriors, authentic to the last bolt. With five copies of each design, kids can have a fleet of Y-wings and X-wings at their command.

In addition to instructions for starship folding, flying, and tinkering, the book includes descriptions of each flyer — written by the pilots. Darth Vader describes manuevering the TIE fighter (and what TIE stands for), while Han Solo details the inner workings of the galaxy’s most famous interplanetary jalopy, the Millennium Falcon. Altogether, it’s a must for Star Wars completists, paper airplane aficionados, and Force fans everywhere.

I wish I had this back in fifth grade. :) Release date: March 1, 2012

The Old Republic: Revan Mask Giveaway

The original Knights Archive blog was launched on October 4, 2010. Unbelievably, nearly a year has passed. We’ll be celebrating our 1-year anniversary this October 4th, and during that celebration will give away a The Old Republic: Revan mask!

This mask was given to us by Del Rey as part of one of their giveaways, which was actually for a copy of Fate of the Jedi: Backlash. (This giveaway is NOT related to that giveaway) The Revan mask was an “extra” they added to the package! I love it, but have decided to share the love with our loyal Facebook fans and Twitter followers.

I must tell you: The mask, which is cardboard, does have a few minor creases on it; it was like that when I pulled it out of the envelope the very first day. But don’t let that stop you from participating. This is a VERY cool mask and would look good on any EU shelf.

The front of the mask is an illustration by Chris Trevas. On the back, there’s a The Old Republic: Revan synopsis. But, what makes this mask special is: It’s signed by Chris Trevas!

Giveaway Details:

There are 2 ways to enter the giveaway. On October 4th, we’ll post a designated Facebook post and a designated Twitter post. You can enter by:

  • Be a fan of Knights Archive on Facebook and Share the designated post with your friends.

OR

  • Be a follower on Twitter and re-tweet the designated tweet.

Those who do either will be added to the same pool. From that pool we’ll then randomly pick the winner! It’s that simple! The shipping address should be sent to knightsarchive@hotmail.com. NOTE: We will verify the winner. See you on October 4th!

Here are some pictures of the mask:
