We’ve lost someone very special to us all.

Ask anyone, especially a Star Wars fan who Ralph McQuarrie was and they’ll likely say something along the lines of: Incredible illustrator. Talented designer. Visionary artist. And they’d be correct. His talent for transforming a blank canvas into a masterpiece brought to life some of the most incredible projects and memorable movies in recent history.

I’ve always been a fan of his work, and can sit and stare at his illustrations over and over again without growing bored. What’s truly amazing is that young and old, blogger and big time director alike from all over the world share this common appreciation and enjoyment. For many years, Ralph McQuarrie inspired countless imaginations and no doubt will continue to do so as his legacy lives on.

While we lost him in physical form, we are so fortunate that Ralph’s imagination was preserved for all of us to enjoy time and again, whenever we want.

The Force will be with him, always.
