Darth Maul’s The Clone Wars Arc to End in Comics

It was shocking enough that Darth Maul even returned after his bisection from Obi-Wan Kenobi back in Ep. I, but after The Clone Wars was cancelled his rather amazing story was left tantalizingly unfinished. Thankfully, Maul’s final arc on The Clone Wars show will see the light of day, albeit in the unexpected form of a 4-part comic series based on the unproduced screenplays. Read more

New Comic Series: Agent of the Empire

Dark Horse Comics revealed at C2E2 a new upcoming Star Wars series, Agent of the Empire, by John Ostrander. Set during the time of the Galactic Empire, prior to the events of Episode IV A New Hope, the new series focuses on an Imperial intelligence agent whose undercover assignments take him across the galaxy to exotic locales, filled with danger and intrigue. Ostrander describes it as Star Wars, with a touch of James Bond and the Bourne series.

Agent of the Empire is scheduled for a December release.

The Old Republic Comic Series Coming Soon

According to French Star Wars fan site Star Wars Universe, the latest Star Wars Insider reveals plans for a new comic series coming this June: The Old Republic: The Lost Suns.

A five-issue series set during the time frame of the hugely-anticipated MMO The Old Republic, The Lost Suns is set approximately 3,600 years before the movies. It stars Republic spy Theron Shan, son of Jedi Master Satele Shan, and packs explosive revelations relating to the events of the game. For this tale the game’s senior writer Alexander Freed reunites with the “Blood of the Empire” creative team of David Ross (pencils), Mark McKenna (inks), Michael Atiyeh (colors), and Benjamin Carre (covers).
