ORIGINAL ARTICLE (3.17.11)

The art for Lost Tribe of the Sith: Pantheon has been posted on Star Wars Books Facebook page.

When the Sith ship Omen crash-landed on Kesh two thousand years ago, the crew encountered native barbarism and superstition. Now a violent millennium has reduced the Lost Tribe of the Sith to a similar state. While Sith teachings are remembered, honored, and violently practiced, knowledge of the Lost Tribe’s true origins has all but vanished.

With a dark age imperiling the Sith, the future rests in the hands of the unlikeliest of people: Caretaker Hilts, the official keeper of lore. Mild-mannered by Sith standards, the aged Hilts hopes to use the wisdom of the ancients to reunite his people. But the truth he uncovers becomes anything but the Tribe’s salvation. Rather, he may have set loose forces leading to its destruction — and his own.

Star Wars: X-WING: MERCY KILL

Aaron Allston’s upcoming Wraith Squadron novel now has a title:

STAR WARS: X-WING: MERCY KILL Source

In an interview with Suvudu last month, Aaron Allston talks EU and gives us a few details from his upcoming Wraith Squadron novel, which is currently slated for a July 2012 release. Link

Most of the action takes place in the same approximate period as Fate of the Jedi, but there are critical chapters that revisit the Wraiths in earlier years, starting just after they made the jump to become an Intelligence unit. The current-era story reunites some of the longtime Wraiths, introduces new ones, and even has second-generation Wraiths.

Not every subplot that arose in Fate of the Jedi will have been resolved by that series’ end, and it’s up to the Wraiths to clean up a big mess left behind. That’s about all I’m willing to say at this time.

The Old Republic: Revan Blurb Now Online

Random House has posted the blurb for The Old Republic: Revan, which is currently slated for a November 15, 2011 release. [Source][Via]

There’s something out there:
a juggernaut of evil bearing down to crush the Republic—
unless one lone Jedi, shunned and reviled, can stop it.

Revan: hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorians—and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares—and deep, abiding fear.

What exactly happened beyond the Outer Rim? Revan can’t quite remember, yet can’t entirely forget. Somehow he stumbled across a terrible secret that threatens the very existence of the Republic. With no idea what it is, or how to stop it, Revan may very well fail, for he’s never faced a more powerful and diabolic enemy. But only death can stop him from trying.

The Old Republic #3 Title Revealed: REVAN

Just announced is the title for the upcoming TOR #3 novel: The Old Republic: Revan. SWTOR.com has a new Karpyshyn interview up, which discusses the novel and other character appearances. [Link]

We called the book Revan because this is his story; he is the main character, and readers are going to see much of this book through his point of view.

I don’t want to give too much away, but Canderous, T3-M4, the Exile and Bastila Shan all have significant roles to play in the novel (along with some significant characters who appear in Star Wars: The Old Republic)

The story picks up right after the end of the first Knights of the Old Republic and continues through and beyond KOTOR II — a span of roughly five years. There are allusions to the events of KOTOR II, but my focus was on the story taking place before, between and after the games — I didn’t want to rehash a story fans already knew.

The Old Republic: Revan is currently scheduled for a October 18, 2011 release.
